Built in 1966, the Collex-Bossy water tower combines a hyperboloid lower section with a truncated cone above. Its geometry required a carefully adapted inspection flight plan.
SwissInspect planned image acquisition following the tower’s shape. The trained AI models detected exposed rebars, corrosion, spalling and cracking.
The 3D mapping of detected damage, together with the quantified measurements of cracks, exposed reinforcement, corrosion, and spalling, helped engineers plan the required retrofitting work.
